Celebrating Little Man's Birthday

Since Matthew had to work on James's birthday (3/12), the three of us celebrated the day of James's birth on Sunday, March 11th.  The day started off with two of James's favorite foods: pancakes and blueberries.

We spent the morning playing,

and after James took a nap, we went for a little hike.

James took a few pictures,

And started to get a little tired,

But not too tired to tell us how old he is.

After nap number two, we took a family picture,

played some more (hence the toys all of the floor in the pic below!) and opened some presents

James apparently didn't think that Uncle Matt and Aunt Steph bought him enough, because after he opened their gifts, he signed "more" to them over iChat

We had some homemade lasagna for dinner (another of James's favorites!) and then the birthday boy finally got to enjoy some cake.

He wasn't so sure at first, but after Dada told him it was ok,

He dug right in.

All in all, we had a really great day.  James and I spent most of the day on his birthday just playing.  We Skyped/iChatted with all of James's Grandparents and some of his aunts and uncles, too.  We didn't go anywhere, and I (shockingly) didn't take many pictures so I could devote my full attention to the little dude.  I did take one video, though, of James watching the e-card that was sent to him by our dear friends Dave Trovato and Jason Nixon:
