2 Months Old!

My sweet baby turned two months old on Monday, so you know what that means - monthly picture time!
This little guy has been such a joy.  Aside from the fact that he won't sleep, he has been a wonderful baby.  He has the sweetest smile and only cries if he needs something.  He also snorts when he's hungry, which is absolutely adorable.

I am just captivated by his eyes, so I did a lot of close-ups this time.

Mom, really?  Do you have to take so many pictures?
I think this one is my favorite.  Those eyes!
Starting to fuss, but still looking cute :)
He had his two month doctors appointment today.  My champion eater is up to 12lbs, 2oz (50-60th percentile) and is 24" long (75-90th percentile).  Matthew and I had a bet - I thought for sure he'd be over 14lbs, Matthew thought between 13-14.  Looks like we both lost!  But my sweet husband is going to let me cash in the winnings: I get to sleep in on Saturday while he gets up with the boys.

And for those of you who are curious, here's a side by side of the boys (Charlie left, James right):

Coast of Carolina

Last week, our little family of four took a trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina.  As you can see from the pics below, we had a blast!

Charlie snoozed away in his beach tent while big brother James had fun playing on the beach (with his baseball and soccer ball), in the ocean, in the water fountains, and in the pool.  We went to the local farmer's market, spent a morning at the Children's Museum, and went to this awesome restaurant called A Lowcountry Backyard.  The food was amazing (James and & shared shrimp & grits and Matthew had a fried green tomato BLT), and their outdoor area had lots to do for someone with energy to spare (like James): there was a putting green, a gold fish pond, a dude playing some live music on his guitar, and cornhole.  And in a very southern fashion, our drinks were served in mason jars, including James's milk (far right):

The boys did really well in the car (thanks to books & stickers).  We stopped every 2-3 hours to feed Charlie & let James stretch his legs.

One of the best parts of our trip was the layovers we spent at my Aunt Donna's house in Waynesville, North Carolina.  She lives about halfway between Cincy & Hilton Head, so stopped to spend the night on the way there and back.  It was so great to spend time with Donna, Tyler (aka Taco, or as James calls him, Cato), & Baili.  And despite what Aunt Donna may say, she's an amazing cook!  We can't wait to go back and see more of beautiful Waynesville.  Yeah, buddy!

We also stopped in Knoxville to meet up with a good friend of ours from high school, Beth Munk, and her family.  The kiddos had fun running around at a playground in 99 degree weather (or at least what felt like 99 degree weather), while the adults talked about Game of Thrones.  Good times.  I'm bummed I forgot to take pictures :(.

All in all, it was a wonderful trip.  I'm ready to start planning our next one!

PS - The title of this post is from a favorite song of ours by Telekensis.  You can listen to it here: Coast of Carolina
